It's Been A While

So... It's been a while since my last confession, I mean blog post. Seems I've been busy with other things... or maybe just procrastinating and running into mental blocks over posting and continuing my momentum in the field of art. Since I posted last I went abroad to Ireland! Ireland was my dream place to visit and finally after years of saying I wanted to go, I did it. And unlike many occasions, the trip and country lived up to my built up expectations. It was a great freeing experience and taught me a lot about myself... mostly good things :) Coming back from the trip I've felt more excited about my art again and again feel the pull to share it with the world. Whether it's a career or just a passion, being an artist is something that I identify myself as and will continue to hone my craft and share with the human race as long as I can. Please do yell at me if when I falter in the future. Anyways, thank you for reading this, I'm glad I'm not just sending my thoughts into a black hole. Below is a screen print I did in Dingle Ireland. Dingle is a beautiful place by the way, great for improv sing alongs in the Irish pubs. This art piece is inspired by the warm comfortable family feeling I get in my grandmother's house in Willsboro.

Roland Barthes, in "Camera Lucida," talks about punctum...that detail which punctures the heart. For me, in this image it is the toy truck. I know ostensibly this is a picture about the musician. But for me, it is the extra detail of the toy truck that pierces my heart. Your images always have punctum.. That extra detail. It is always a pleasure to experience your art..whether it is the graphics of your visual work, or your music.
